Venue Rigging
Star Rigging is one of the main suppliers of rigging services to arena venues and tours in the UK. Increasing the level and quality of our arena rigging services is a key part of the company’s objectives.
We have the largest database of available riggers in the UK, with around 200 being deployed on a regular basis.
We have extensive insurance to cover our riggers, with no limit on the number deployed or the height they work at. Most rigging insurances in the UK are limited to 25m height.
We are currently the venue rigging contractors in six UK venues and provide ad-hoc and back-up services to many others.
Cardiff International Arena
Star Rigging is the house rigging contractor, which encompasses:
- Calculation of applied loads to beams
- Determination of rigging bridles location to spread load
- Supply of Venue Rigger to assist event rigger
- Issuing of checklist and sign-off sheet
- Issuing of CAD drawings with event rigging plot overlaid on venue roof plan
- Supply of Work at Height rescue training and equipment
Cardiff Millennium Stadium
Star Events Group provides technical management services to all non-grass based events in the venue, including
- Installation of in-house mother grid for half stadium events
- Operation of in-house mother grid including load monitoring
- Installation of in-house drape system
- Installation of in-house stage system
- Installation of any event specific specialist rigging solutions
- Co-ordination of rigging services required by event organiser
- Issuing of checklist and sign-off sheet
- Issuing of CAD drawings with event rigging plot overlaid on grid/Venue roof
- Inspection, certification and maintenance of all in-house rigging equipment
- Supply of Work at Height rescue training and equipment
- Liaison with venue structural engineers (Atkins) about the venue
Hull Arena
